Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Dynamics 365 System Architect is responsible for the end-to-end design, architecture, and technical governance of Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions. This is a role that gets into the weeds of the technology. This role requires execution within the technology, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing implementations that align with business goals and Microsoft best practices. The Technical System Architect works closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and platform owners to translate requirements into robust technical designs and implementations across Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. Key responsibilities: Technical Architecture & Design Leadership - Lead the technical architecture and detailed design of Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions.
- Define solution patterns, integration approaches, workflows, automations, and data models.
- Ensure designs align with Microsoft best practices, security standards, and compliance requirements.
- Own architecture documentation, including high-level and detailed technical designs.
- Act as the technical authority for Dynamics 365 configurations, custom developments and enhancements.
- Provide guidance and oversight to developers, functional consultants, and delivery teams.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and design risks.
Platform & Integration - Design integrations between Dynamics 365 and external systems using APIs, Azure services, and middleware.
- Leverage Azure services such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Azure DevOps.
- Ensure system scalability, performance, reliability and user experience is first class.
Governance & Quality - Establish and enforce development standards and architectural principles.
- Ensure proper use of out-of-the-box functionality before customisation.
- Support release management, environment strategy, and application lifecycle processes.
- Conduct system reviews and architecture assurance activities.
Stakeholder Engagement - Collaborate with business leads, translating business requirements into technical architecture and roadmaps.
- Provide clear communication of architectural decisions, risks, and trade-offs.
About You... Experience: - 5+ years delivering Dynamics 365 in real production environments.
- Certification in two or more Microsoft Dynamics 365 credentials.
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience in the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Dataverse).
- Deep understanding of Dynamics 365 security, data model, performance tuning, and extensibility options.
- Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills
