About the Role...

 

We are seeking a commercially focused Senior Analyst to lead the development of data-driven insights that influence strategic and operational decision-making across the business.

 

This role goes beyond traditional reporting to drive commercial outcomes through predictive modelling, stakeholder engagement, and actionable recommendations.

 

Your responsibilities will include (but are not restricted to);

  • Support the CFO in establishing a structured FP&A cycle that facilitates open dialogue with business unit leaders and the executive team to monitor budget performance, address operational challenges, and evaluate capital investment priorities.
  • Mentor and support finance staff in developing cashflow management tools that enable both short-term forecasting and long-range financial planning.
  • Support the collection, integration, and validation of data across operational, financial, and sales functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Design and deploy robust Power BI dashboards and financial/operational models to support planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
  • Identify commercial opportunities and cost optimisation initiatives through deep data exploration and predictive analysis.
  • Present insights to senior leadership and key business unit stakeholders with clarity and confidence, ensuring recommendations are aligned with business priorities.
  • Own the end-to-end analytics cycle - from stakeholder engagement and business question framing to model development, delivery, and post-implementation evaluation - supported by the finance reporting team.
  • Leverage off the advice of the IT and data teams to develop reporting automation workflows and integrate real-time data feeds using Microsoft D365, Power BI, and tools that have machine learning and AI capabilities.
  • Support financial planning and commercial decision-making through advanced Excel modelling and the use of inventory, CRM, and credit forecasting tools.
  • Track and monitor data accuracy, quality control, and governance, ensuring the executive team can call out issues and establish a reliable foundation for decision support.

 

About You...

 

The successful candidate will  have:

  • Strong experience with Power BI - report development, dashboarding, and data modelling.
  • Advanced SQL and Excel proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft D365 Finance & Operations and Power BI integration.
  • Experience applying predictive modelling techniques in a commercial environment for manufacturing or logistical companies.
  • Ability to translate complex datasets into meaningful business insights.
  • Clear and confident communicator across all levels of the business, including senior executives.
  • Proven ownership of analytics projects from concept through to impact delivery.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration across finance, operations, sales, and IT

Highly Regarded Skills:

  • Experience with Slim4 or similar inventory optimisation tools.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Copilot or similar AI-based tools for reporting, automation, or forecasting.
  • Knowledge of financial modelling or commercial strategy frameworks.
  • Experience working in a multi-business unit environment that has a focus with Mergers & Acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (postgraduate qualifications a plus).
  • 4+ years in a commercial, financial, or operational analytics role.
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable analytics solutions and delivering tangible business value.
